Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
Cryonel's free-tool input/output code does not set cookies. Google Analytics uses storage only after analytics consent, Google AdSense may use storage where permitted, and API Guard uses two strictly necessary first-party cookies after login.
Free developer tools
The tools under /tools/ do not use cookies for input or output. Tool data is processed locally and is never placed in a cookie or sent to Google AdSense. The AdSense site code is separate from tool processing and may use cookies or other browser storage where permitted.
Strictly necessary API Guard cookies
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Protection |
|---|---|---|---|
cryonel_session | Identifies an authenticated API Guard session using a random token backed by a server-side session record. | Up to 30 days, or until logout, revocation, password reset, or account deletion. | Secure in production, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. |
cryonel_csrf | Supports the double-submit CSRF check for state-changing API Guard requests. | Up to 30 days. | Secure in production and SameSite=Lax. It is readable by Cryonel's same-origin frontend so it can be echoed in the CSRF request header. |
These cookies are required for login and account security. Blocking them prevents API Guard account features from working, but does not prevent use of the free browser tools.
Other browser storage
localStorage['cryonel-theme'] remembers the selected light or dark theme. localStorage['cryonel-analytics-consent'] stores only granted or denied and can be changed through the footer's “Privacy choices” control. localStorage['cryonel-recent-tools'] keeps up to eight tool slugs and localStorage['cryonel-favorite-tools'] keeps the tool slugs you favorite; neither contains tool input or output. sessionStorage['cryonel-handoff'] temporarily moves a value between tools only after a “Send to” or compatible “Run next step” action and is deleted when consumed. sessionStorage['cryonel-workflow'] stores only recipe step slugs, progress, and a compatibility notice. The service worker Cache Storage contains public site files for speed and offline use. These are browser storage mechanisms, not cookies, and free-tool content is not sent to Cryonel through them.
Payments and external sites
API Guard checkout is hosted by Polar. When you follow a checkout or other external link, that site's own cookie and privacy policies apply. Cryonel does not receive your card details.
Advertising and analytics
The Google Analytics 4 tag loads on public pages and the fixed /app/signup and /app/dashboard funnel routes with analytics and advertising storage denied by default. Before consent, Cryonel sends no GA4 page-view or custom product events. After “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics may use cookies or browser storage and receives canonical public page views plus the allowlisted events documented in Technical Transparency. Account page views, query strings, tool input/output and account content are excluded.
Cryonel loads the Google AdSense site code only on /docs/* and /reference/* pages. Tool workspaces, API Guard, pricing, services and account routes do not load it. Google may use cookies or other browser storage to deliver, measure, and protect advertising where permitted. Ad serving for visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland will not be enabled until advertising consent choices are handled through a Google-certified consent management platform. See the Privacy Policy and Google's advertising technologies explanation.
